華人神學研究中心
Background 緣起:
Chinese theological training in MST (ex BCV) has been in existence since 1995, with the establishment of MST Chinese (MSTC, ex Chinese Department) under combined effort of MST and Chinese Theological Education Foundation (CTEF). Our Alumni are now serving in all the capital cities of Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Taiwan, China and South-east Asia. The task of equipping leaders for the Church continues in terms of training full-time workers and lay leaders. There remains another task which is equally as important, and is also the commitment of MSTC from its very inception: To provide forum for research and publication.
For any teaching organization to work, because of its very nature as a growing institution, it will not just need to start with a vision, continue to operate effectively, but to invest on new and more mature enterprises as well. The latter would ensure that the institute is in keeping with the changes around us, and also in manifesting the vitality of the Gospel that is passed down to us. Thus, deeper research to advance our Christian thinking in this post-modern world is essential and inevitable, especially for the Chinese Christian Community in Australia. MSTC is blessed to have a very supportive Chinese Church behind it. There has never been any hesitation in upholding Christian scholarship. Hence research and publication was underway from 2009 with the approval by the CTEF Board to establish a Research Centre for this purpose. The Centre for the Study of Chinese Christianity （華人神學研究中心） was formally launched on 28 February 2012.
MST（前BCV）之中文神學裝備事工於1995年正式開展，透過神學院與華人神學教育基金會（CTEF）的同心合作，成立了墨爾本華人神學院（前維省聖經學院中文部），一直以來專注在培訓全時間聖職人員以及華人教會領袖上，不遺餘力。現存的另一個使命也同樣重要：提供研究與出版的發展空間；這也是華人神學院創校以來的異象之一。
每一個神學教育機構若要真正發揮其作用，它不只要有異象、從而能繼續有效地開展，也必須要有創新與趨向成熟的遠象。這樣整個神學教育才能保證能與激變的社會同步，甚至成爲先鋒，但是，更重要的是能不斷地展現基督福音的更新能力。因此，更深入的研究基督教在這個后現代思潮的信息與使命，已經不容置疑，尤其是對處在澳洲多元民族社會中的華人教會。
墨爾本華人神學院很感恩能獲得華人教會的大力支持，教會也很體會基督教學術研究的重要性。因此在教會與信徒的鼓催之下，於2009年經校董會通過，開始研究與出版的事工。
華人神學研究中心於2012年2月28日正式成立。
